Duration 4 Weeks : June 4, 2021 through June 25, 2021
Prerequisite: Completion of Intermediate class or equivalent or handler's past experience titling in Obedience or Rally
Description: What a joy to look into the eyes of a happy dog heeling at your side or to watch a dog/handler team moving in beautiful synchronization. Class will introduce teams to a variety of training methods to improve dog's mental emotional and physical heeling abilities. We will break down heeling into small parts; set ups, first steps, automatic sits, etc. Additional topics to be introduced: attention, physical conditioning for attention heeling, use of tricks to improve heeling, games to improve heeling attitude, and methods for maintaining happy heeling without food in the hands or pockets. When time permits, we will practice other obedience exercises such as Sit or Stand for Exam, Sit and Down Stays and Recalls.
